Early Literacy

Our preschoolers learn to read and write. We use a phonics and reading program based upon Words in Color by Caleb Gattegno. We've used this successfully for over 25 years.

The children also are introduced to numbers and simple arithmetic. It's all a very hands-on approach as it must be for very young children.

Preschoolers like science. They especially like to do their own research. We let them do this.
"The staff you have and the space you have created are so ideal. Hats off to you for creating a haven for our kids to play and learn." A.L., Mom

Painting

Preschoolers love to paint. If they are provided with supplies and left alone, they know what they want and create it. Their work is often remarkable.

They also love to create murals and many they have created are quite impressive!

"I am so very happy with the care that my son gets at the preschool. He just turned 2 and is speaking in 3 and 4 word sentences and is progressing way beyond his years." S.L., Mom

Singing

The preschoolers sing quietly, and they sing well.

Cats and Ducks and Chickens

We have cats, ducks and chickens. The ducks and the preschoolers love the water.

Occasionally, John Valentine will stop by with more exotic creatures.
"My daughter has been at home since she was born. She is now 21 months old. From the first day she started she has been completely and utterly happy about being at the preschool. The other thing that surprised me is that she sleeps only in her own crib. However, to my astonishment, she has been taking naps with the other kids." T.W., Mom
